Human Traffic, I’d Rather Drive
Human Traffic was released in 1999. For many years all I have heard is good things about it. I’m almost certain some people claim that this is a film you have to see before you die. It took me 12 years to finally get round to watching Human Traffic, and I have to be honest, I could have turned it off after 31 minutes.
The film can be summed up very easily. Its about a group of mates who go out like any other weekend and get high on a variety of drugs.
If I’m honest, not much happens in the film, there is no real lesson to be learned and it certainly doesn’t grip you from start to finish. The film focuses entirely on drug use and going to a club and getting ‘trashed’. Something which many 18-30 year olds do every week. Once the film had finished it felt like I had just been a tag along on someone’s night out.
Human Traffic is certainly not a film to get the heart racing. If there is a queue of Human Traffic, I’d rather drive!
