Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes – Review
As Rise of the Planet of the Apes is now at the cinema, last week I decided to get my hands on a copy of the 2001 release of Planet Of The Apes. What an awful film it is. The film starts off reasonably well, in that there is actually a planet in the universe which has apes on it. However, the acting is pretty shoddy, the apes dont act all that great, and the story fails by the minute.
After watching Planet of the Apes, I have to be honest and say I was wasnt looking all that forward to Rise of the Planet of the Apes. However, within minutes I was pretty gripped on it. It really had a blockbuster feel to it. James Franco plays his part well and as the film progresses, the story evolves. All this in a San Francisco backdrop rather than a space adventure, I would say the film worked a lot better than its predecessor 10 years earlier.
